Heroin worth 3 crore, 8850 bottles of banned drugs seized, 4 peddlers arrested in different operations

*8280 bottles of banned drug recovered, 2 drug Smugglers held, truck seized

Special Operation Group of Jammu & Kashmir Police of Jammu district achieved a major success by recovering 8280 bottles of codeine phosphate @ Tuffrex, (Banned drug) concealed in 69 boxes carrying by two narco smugglers in a truck bearing registration No. JK13C -8225 in Rajbagh area of district Kathua this evening.

The accused have been identified as Habibullah Peer S/o Saifullah Peer (driver of the vehicle) and Parvez Ahmed (conductor ) S/o Abdul Majeed both residents of Panzgam Pulwama .

Reports said that sleuths of SOG Jammu led by SI Azad Manhas with a Police party of Police Station Rajbagh led by Inspr. Manjeet Singh laid a special Naka at Rajbagh and they intercepted a truck bearing registration No. JK13C -8225 which was on its way from Punjab towards Jammu. During search of the vehicle cops recovered 8280 bottles of codeine phosphate @ Tuffrex, (Banned drug) concealed in 69 boxes kept in specially designed chambers inside the vehicle .

Cops seized the vehicle and arrested the driver and conductor of the truck. Case to this effect under relevant sections stands registered at PS Rajbagh.

The whole exercise was closely monitored by SSP SOG Jammu Sh. Sandeep Mehta- JKPS and was carried out under the supervision of ASP Kathua Sh. Ramnish Gupta –JKPS.

*It is pertinent to mention that since last Six months SOG Jammu in its drive against drugs has so far recovered 1.65 kilograms of high quality Heroin, 16.5 kilograms of Charas, 1781 kgs of Poppy Straw, 16,854 Nos. of Corex bottles and 39,174 Nos. of Psychotropic Capsules. Public at large has been requested to share any information about the movement of drugs with the Police and help Police in curbing this menace from the society*.

J&K Police in Poonch district recovered 500 grams of Heroin like substance from narco smugglers at Mahorte Surankote, 2 held

District Poonch Police is trying hard to weed out the social crimes from the society at earliest, as the menace of drugs are spreading among the youth. In this process a special drive against the smuggling of drugs & other social crimes has been launched .

Reports said that Joint Police party of P/S Mendhar/ Surankote laid a Naka near bridge at Mahorte Surankote .During Naka Police party observing the suspicious movement of 03 persons and asked them to stop but they tried to fled away. However alert police party apprehended one person namely Mohd Bashir S/O Ahmed Din caste Beig R/o Sehri Khawaja Tehsil Surankote and recovered 500 gm Heroin like substance from his possession however his two accomplice managed to fled away from spot, the contraband substance has been taken into possession and seized on spot.

In this matter a case FIR No 146/19 U/S 8/21/22/29NDPS act 353/336 RPC registered at PS Surankote. Later in the evening one more accused Javed Iqbal s/o Ahamad Din got arrested.
